Carry Me Home

limited edition

so this week in the shop we put together some limited edition sets for the website, each set is a unique grouping that is only available to website customers, so if you see something you like, then if i was you i would get it now as these wont hang around for long..

this was also a good opportunity for us to try some new ways of photographing the products..having a new-ish website is a constant learning curve, and to make the products look as good as possible for those of you who can only see them through the website is a job we try and take a serious as we can..

we don’t have model children at our disposal and we don’t have fancy schmancy photographers with lighting and backdrops..but i hope you agree we do a good job…a good job that can only get better.

happy fathers day

without you dads…we would not be here…have a lovely day and we hope you get given lovely presents by your loving children..young and old….

we hope they buy you cards that feature boating scenes and men in caps playing golf, and ones with racing cars and footballers on the front….or is that just a memory from my fathers day card buying experience ?…and my dad never played football or raced cars ?

we hope they make you breakfast in bed and draw you a picture..or take you down the pub and get you drunk..either way happy fathers day …and like we said earlier..without you we would not be here. xxx

so where are we ?

so today’s blog post is not about a new product or a cute toy we want to show you, but we wanted to give you an idea where we are and what the courtyard is like where carry me home is situated.we often don’t even notice what a cool place we work in, but sometimes when the sun is shining and there is a sound of chatter in the air, it makes us remember that this is not some boring high street in ordinary town, but a brilliantly unique environment for us to showcase to you and the world carry me home.

so if you don’t already know, we are in a place called kingly court, which is just of Carnaby street in central London, we are on the 2nd floor of the courtyard and from here we can watch the world below, with people having dinner on the outside tables, meetings taking place from the surrounding film companies, and occasionally spot celebrities whilst they are just out shopping trying to go un-noticed.. they don’t go un-noticed here in carry me home i can tell you. in our shop alone we have had Gwen stefani, sporty spice Mel c, and a whole host of other minor celebrity types that I’m sure think they are more famous than they are.

the courtyard is full of shops that range from high street names and more independent places like us, with a cool mix of styles and features from vintage clothing to modern t shirts, handmade jewellery and even a walk in massage centre…there is a shop for every taste.

so now you know where we are and that its a fun place to visit..remember kingly court when you next come this way and we hope to see you soon.

vintage inspired at carry me home

Hi everyone , We had some new things in the shop this week that I wanted to show you,
beautiful vintage inspired dress’s and shirt’s. The fabric is to die for roses, butterfly’s and mermaids for the girls and cowboys and pirates for the boys.
The dress’s have frills on the little cap sleeves and round the bottom hem,and to complete the look a matching bit that covers the nappy, too cute,I think they would be be perfect for a special occassion,a christening, birthday or wedding or just a lovely summers day! The dress’s are 100% cotton and come in newborn to 12-18 months .
Now I am always on the look out for cute, but cool things for boy’s as I know they are harder to find than girls.Well I think these shirts hit the nail on the head, I’ve been teaming them with jeans and a tank-top.. the cowboy and pirate prints are both classic, yet trendy.. the shirts are 100% cotton and come in sizes 0-3 months to 3-4 years.

give a gift with love

so here at carry me home we are not just full of toys and clothes, we have some lovely gifts that are perfect for baby showers and birthday presents,..I’m sure like us you often have no idea what to give a little one as a gift..so why not give them something more as a keepsake or a decorative item that they wont grow out of after a few months and that can be used in their rooms for years to come.
….so one of our best sellers is these l,e,d mobile lights that we have in single elephants, angels and moons, these hang from a small battery pack and slowly change colour, they are brilliant for illuminating a dark corner and are suitable for checking upon sleeping babies as they glow quite bright…these are also available as hanging mobiles with 3 of each design hanging at slightly different heights..see the web for more images.

we also have cute little photo albums that allow you to document the first months of a new born baby with space for names, age and place of birth, these are also on the website along with these fab wooden soldier skittles, we actually get more adults buying these for there own amusement…so come to carry me home for any gifts..you will be amazed at what we have.

we are bursting at the seams

banerforetsy3flat.jpg

so this week at carry me home we have had 2 big deliveries and we can now not really see the floor for boxes of unique goodies all stacked up everywhere..now we are not a massive department store with storage places..we are a small independent boutique with only a tiny room at the back which doubles as office/kitchen/slash postage room/warehouse/meeting room/design studio/place where Steven can make a mess. so we have to always think of nice ways to display things..especially the toys that came in this week..the box they arrived in was bigger than me and finding homes for the many monkeys, cats, owls and giraffes is a job we never really enjoy….
sl734089.JPG
but look…don’t they make the place look fab..and if its for a christening gift or for a baby shower, these toys never fail to raise a smile… babies love these toys and how soft they and new mothers can be assured they are safe for all ages. we have had many adults buying them for themselves..they dont even pretend to be buying them for children… and who can blame them.
