brand spanking new
so this week in the shop the postman could hardly hold his bag because it was full of lovely brand spanking new stuff… and we hope you agree, its all really quite lovely, firstly we have these long legged overalls in 4 different colours and with a retro style rainbow print.
and then we also got these beautifull classic dresses and body suits, all made from organic cotton ,and with a very small polka dot print, and the pictures do not do them justice as they feel so nice and soft to touch and the print gives them a lovely texture.
all of these are now in the shop and on the website waiting to be loved. i cant wait to see what the postman brings this week. ? as long as its not bills….
hayley welsh
hello, steven here, just wanted to share an amazing artist who got in touch with us recently about her personalised paintings that feature you and your family, pets, friends or whoever you wish.
hayley welsh is an illustrator with many years experience and we loved her work when we saw it and the unique approach to the work she does, i like how hayley uses old cardboard boxes as the base to the paintings, and you can see the text and graphics coming through the paint which adds an interesting element.
. i like how she incorporates details personal to you and how each painting tells a story.
and i love how when framed and displayed, the work just looks even more special and unique. hope you agree they really are cool and that hayley really is rather talented..
summer dresses
hello, so summer weather is nearly here and it is hotting up daily, you can tell when its summer because inapropriate clothing can be seen all around,..boys who should never get their feet out start wearing flip flops and girls who should know better start wearing anything that exposes as much flesh as possible…but here in carry me home we have got some incredibly respectable little dresses that are perfect for these suuny days.
and with such lovely fabrics to choose from, and all are reversible so its like 2 for the price of 1…but hurry, from past experience these dont hang around for long.. so get your flip flops on and tie that sarong around yourself and get them quick..
wallpaper wonders
steven here, so today i was thinking about what i could blog about and suddenly got some inspiration from gayle who has been looking at wallpaers recently, and i thought i wonder what cool kids room papers there might be, so off i went and look at these two i found..this first one is called birdsong and is only £325 to cover one wall… bargain…not, but its rather excellent and would look lovely in a nursery.
and this second one is called bollywood and i think this would be best suited to a teenagers room. and this one is only £225 for one wall..
there were lots and lots of papers to choose from but none quite as dramatic as these… i wonder if gayle would let us decorate the shop with one of these ?
vintage inspiration
hello, its steven here and i have been scouring etsy once again loking at the vintage sections and i have found some lovely kids things, i find the graphics and packaging and images are so much more interesting than anything we have these days. i love these stacking blocks and dont care that they are all battered and bruised.

and i want really to buy this little train, its just so me and would look incredible on a shelf in my house… yeah i know im strange,
and my final virtual shopping desire for today is this record, its all about the illustration and the words and the colours that i like and i know it would be amazing framed and put in a childs nursery, as any of the above things would be, but seen as im just a big kid myself, im allowed to love them also..and i do.
dont we look nice
so here at carry me home we have been snapping away with our camera hoping tio get some nice interior pictures for a future feature in a magazine, its top secret for now but all will be revealed soon, and i just wanted to share this picture that gayle took of one area of the shop, and i think you will agree its quite lovely..what do you think, would or does it make you want to rush here and spends spend spend ?
we like being gossiped about
so we were contacted yesterday by unchained guides and told that we had been included in a feature on kingly court that talked about what a cool hiden place it is, check it out here
and also i wanted to show you what i had just bought from etsy, a vintage illustration of a circus show that as soon as i saw it i knew i had to have it, i will frame it and love it forever….look how amazing it is…

spinning it’s the new black ..
Well I made it … and don’t tell anyone but actually quite liked it ..though I may be investing in some padded short’s !… ooo ahhh (spinning that is )
It’s time in the shop for me to think of some new products to buy for the shop, so I’m off to the trade show bubble

It originated in new york and it’s now in in it’s second year here in london,I’ve already been inundated by new companies sending me emails inviting me to come look at there new collection’s .I actually love choosing new things for the shop , finding something different that will fit in with all the things we already have at the shop.
one of the companies is Baby Bloch tiny little leather ballet pumps
It’s funny that they should contact me today as they were just featured on DailyCandy, Daily Candy is a blog I have recently come across, it has tips for cities all over the world so you can subscribe to london/kids for instance. For your daily fix of those essential things you know you need to know.. new produts ,places to eat, books to read, things to entertain the kids. and more inpotantly it all looks lovely and good enough to eat even!

No commentsbest sellers
so the last few weeks in this run up to christmas, easily the best selling item in the shop and on the website has been these little guys, just yesterday alone 9 sets sold on the website, steven is seeing more of the post office than he is his own home, all he needs is a black and white cat and he will be postman pat…get yours now, we suspect more adults are buying them and pretending they are for kids, but we know they are not destined for small hands..
bored hands
so do you ever get bored hands ?..well steven does and he likes nothing more than some finger puppeting fun, and here in the shop many a quiet moment will be filled with one hand telling a story to the other, maybe a battle between a whale and a parrott or a dramatic encounter between a giraffe and a monkey will occur, either way steven thinks finger puppets are brilliant, and he does not care that he is 32 yrs old and should know better…
