its here again

yes its that time of year again, not boring halloween or noisy bonfire night, dont be silly, its nearly time for the grazia shopping night again, where a whole bag full of shops , including us offer 20% off for one night only.

click here to register for your ticket.. and remember there are always free drinks down in the courtyard..
and this year here at carry me home we are having a lucky dip where for a small fee, you can risk your life by diving head first into a box of goodies, and hidden in amongst the treats and delights will be a few special surprises… you wont ever know unless you have a go.

put it this way, it will be better than paying 10p for a small plastic ball with some plastic rubbish inside… oh how i loved those machines when i was little…

and remember also its the one night of the year where me, (steven) usually bothers to have a wash and wear something half decent, and not what the dog slept on the night before.. just hope your not the unlucky customer whose credit card i snap in two by rushing through the sales… that did happen last time..oops.

so me and the boss, gayle, wiil see you there…

finally after months of back and forth communicating and designing we finally received the package from the grand ole U S of A of the whimsey dolls we have liked for so long, and now carry me home are the only UK stockist of these handmade beauties., we chose the styles and the fabrics and worked together with the designer to get just what we wanted, and already in the shop they have proven poular with some of the best ones selling instantly., over on the website they have been given names and little stories, because of course each one has differnet personalities and styles.
there are cute little girls in dresses and funny little creatures and amazing foxes and cats. and they are all super soft and so well made and unique. and they make carry me home even more special for truely one of a kind finds and treasures. get them now here.

let us know what you think, we like feedback, it lets us know if we are selling the best things or not.

its deepest winter

steven here, shivering in the shop, and for the first time in ages i have put the heater on and closed the door, and if i could i would start a fire to warm my hands, but not sure the boss would approve of me burning down the shop. but i know that if i was a tiny boy and not a huge beast then i would want to be keeping warm whilst wearing these super stripey tank tops and cardigans we have just got in the shop…

and all of these are now on the website and in the shop.. but get them fast because if i dont heat up soon i will force my quite substantial 33yr old body into one…

so really i should have blogged about this when it first opened, but better late than never.. so just literally a stones throw from carry me home a pop up temporary central perk cafe has opened to celebrate 15 yrs of the tv show friends.
and having walked past a few times i can say its been quite popular, with massive queues outside , with people of all ages waiting to sit on the famous sofa, or have a peek at some props used in the show, and of course to get their free coffee, the thing is you better hurry because its only open untill wednesday oct 7th.. you never know, you might get a rendition of smelly cat… and seen as your in the area pop in to see us..

a little bit of everything

here at carry me home we often have customers who just dont know what they want, and more often than not dont even have a clue where to start when it comes to buying gifts for babies.. for most its a whole new adventuire in shopping, usually one they find confusing, so we have tried to make this more simple for them by putting together 3 luxury gift sets that have a little bit of everything.
firstly we have a set just for boys.

and then we have put together a set just for girls..

and finally for those customers who have an even harder job because they dont know if the yet to be born baby is a boy or girl, we have made a set suitable for everyone…

and all 3 of thes sets are available now in the shop and on the website

were living etc

so as lots of you might know already, the boss, gayle, has moved to the sunny side of the river..thats right she’s a southerner now, and her little wooden floored flat in clapham is already looking nice and homely.

what with the quirky mix of old and new, made and used its got a calm and warm look that we shared on the living etc magazine forums, under the 2see my home” section, and within hours, the post got some nice comments. look here for more pictures..

you say it we paint it

so did you know that here at carry me home, we have been known to paint the silliest of slogans onto the cutest of clothes, from football chants to quite abusive messages, but they all are what our customers wanted, because we can, and do, and always will offer the chance to make any of our products, from bibs to babygrows more personal and unique
,
so if its a name you want added onto one of our existing phrases, or the date of birth of the child..its up to you..you say it and we will paint it, and its only £4.00 extra, but if you want a whole peom of slushy words painted then we might have to charge a little more.. but not much

too nice to play with

so following on from the last blog post i did, im blogging about these chenille towelling toys because i know the boss, gayle will love these.. i found them through a blog i visit and i just knew i had to show them myself here.
they are of course available through etsy and are by a shop called vintage chenille and they are based gazillions of miles away in sunny australia, these elephants are the best, the cool colours are so carry me home, and things featuring elephants sell very well here in the shop..but my personal favorite item in the shop is this chenile blanket that she has made from lots of different styles and patterns, this is just a close up of how it looks, i know its very girly but you know it will be soo comforting and super soft…

not just for kids

steven here, so today i found myself looking on etsy at some prints, and came across these lovely lino cut prints of animals that i think, no, i know would look fab in any room, not just a nursery or kids room..if i had more space in my house i would so make such a mess and try and do things like this, but alas, i have no space to swing my cat, and i have tried, she smacked her head against the telly… only joking..or am i ?, hope you agree these are nice, i think carry me home could sell these ?.. would you buy them ?
they are from linocreative..
